This fun little "mini" offers hundreds of "how-tos" that will help readers maintain a sense of calm in their busy lives & relationships. Emphasizes simplicity, thankfulness, dreaming big dreams,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
As someone who is not yet married but lives in her parents' hurried home, I appreciated that so much of the text was geared toward changing your mind and heart, not just your habits. Example: a forgiving spirit will allow you to let go and let God rather than hold grudges that are unproductive and hurtful. That's a much more helpful reminder than some formulaic apology sequence that might lurk behind the cover of other self-help books.
Real Help for Harried Homes

How do you slow down? Is it possible in this culture? Why do we feel such a need to pack every moment with our to-do lists and what effect does that have on our families, marriages, our children, and our home? Some of this feels old-fashioned, but that makes sense because that is how our culture portrays slowing down. But it's meaty, and offers practical help as well as insight on why we do what we do, and how to make changes that make sense for individual families. A must-read.
Rest and Peace

I bought this book at a marriage conference with the hope that it would provide some ideas for slowing down the busyness of a dual-career, three-child household. To my surprise, it offers much more that that. It guided me to think through my strengths, calling, convictions and relationships in every part of my life. Pursuing success as a goal had left me disappointed, disillusioned, dissatisfied and disenfranchised. I had measured my significance by others' opinions, expectations and accomplishments. I was weary and worn out. Tim Kimmel's call to forgiveness, repentance and gratitude has brought renewal - and rest! Rest is not only a gift or a commandment, it is also a choice, based on an attitude of truth rooted in faith.

Hurry up and wait! The theme for our world. Everyone seems to be so intensely busy. Never enough time for the real things we want to do.This book will help. It won't be cure-all. But it is great start.God wants His children to have rest, rest for our bodies, souls and minds. Rest from anxiety, etc., so at the heart is our rest in Christ. From this, Kimmel proceeds to apply it to relationships, work, children, suffering, forgiveness, etc.Fun read, but so relevant and applicable.
