Little Manhattan is a terrific story, cute, funny, and romantic, but the book reads like the author just copied down what she saw on the movie screen; there is no added insight. In fact, the movie was narrated by the main character, so the book, written in the third person, leaves out most of that narration and lacks all the passion and charm of the film.
