Beautiful, fortune - telling Solitaire is the prisoner and tool of Mr Big: master of fear, artist in crime and Voodoo Baron of Death. But James Bond has no time for hocus pocus. He knows that this criminal heavy hitter is also a top SMERSH operative and a real threat. More than that, after tracking him through the jazz joints of Harlem, to the everglades and on to the Caribbean, 007 has realized that Big is one of the most dangerous men he has ever faced...
This is one of Ian Fleming's best James Bond novels. It is richly textured, well written, clearly defines the Bond character and has survived not only as good literature but a great period piece of NYC's unseen night life of the 50s. Clearly, we get a vision of a much worldlier Bond than we saw in CASINO ROYALE. We see James Bond easily adapting to any locale or situation. He is both innovative and resourceful. This is a very good Bond novel. Great retro cover too!
BEST BOND SO FAR

I'm reading the James Bond Series in order and now I'm on Goldfinger , but of the ones I've read so far this is the best! Fleming attaches you to this book! It's so exciting when Bond is at the Everglades and Felix getting eaten by the shark, the warehosue fight, and the chilling climax and Bond's swim from Morgan's Harbour! It's a great book and my favorite so far. It has the girl, the villian eveyrhting needed in a Bond book! The best bond I've read!

Live and Let Die is the best book since Moonraker. Bond is sent to New York in Harlem were he meets the Drug Lord Mr. Big, and with the help of his friend Felix Leiter it makes it even more exciting to read. Buy the book.
A Real Page Turner

Bond is at his best in this terrific sequel to Casino Royal. This book definitly out matches the previous novel in every way! However, it as a whole is by no means the best of the Bond series. With plenty of action and suspense it is kept alive. If you can keep reading up until what they do to felix Leiter...you'll never put it down.

"live and Let Die" is by all means the best James Bond novel. Bond is thrust into action against the crime-lord Mr. Big. This adventure takes Bond to Jamaca, where he meets up with Felix Leiter. For all Bond fans this is a absolute must to read.
