INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER"Looking for a suspense novel that will keep you up until way past midnight? Look no further than Lock Every Door, by Riley Sager."--Stephen King No visitors. No nights spent away from the apartment. No disturbing the other residents, all of whom are rich or famous or both. These are the only rules for Jules Larsen's new job as an apartment sitter at the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most high-profile and mysterious buildings. Recently heartbroken and just plain broke, Jules is taken in by the splendor of her surroundings and accepts the terms, ready to leave her past life behind. As she gets to know the residents and staff of the Bartholomew, Jules finds herself drawn to fellow apartment sitter Ingrid, who comfortingly reminds her of the sister she lost eight years ago. When Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems and the dark history hidden beneath its gleaming facade is starting to frighten her, Jules brushes it off as a harmless ghost story...until the next day, when Ingrid disappears. Searching for the truth about Ingrid's disappearance, Jules digs deeper into the Bartholomew's sordid past and into the secrets kept within its walls. What she discovers pits Jules against the clock as she races to unmask a killer, expose the building's hidden past, and escape the Bartholomew before her temporary status becomes permanent.
This book was a fun read. It makes you second guess why people are being nice to you! I went into this book sorta guessing what would happen, but it surprised me by all the twists and the truths that continue to be exposed by the residents who reside in the building. I will forever question if someone does a good deed for me now! Is there a motive?

I read this book in a day I literally just finished it. All I can say is WOW, this book is beyond MARVELOUS! Riley Sager grabs you from the first word snd keeps you grappled until the very last word. Jules is a girl who is going through a rough stent in her life. After losing her boyfriend, job and home all in one day. Jules sees a listing offering $12,000 for being a house sitter at the infamous Bartholomew apartments in Manhattan. Jules decides to answer the ad she sees in the paper. Jules agrees to the unusual and deal and rules. As the days go by weird things start to happen. Jules starts questioning everything about the arrangement and everything going on around her. Jules starts to meet the different characters in the building and starts to form relationships with them. The book starts to take many twists and turns taking you and Jules down a series of rabbit holes. The events that start to unfold in this book are so riveting and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. I seriously could not put this book down. I carried my phone or kindle with me everywhere I went today and read as I worked. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!
