Organized in alphabetical order by popular name and thoroughly illustrated with quality photos, Lois Hole reviews 300 of her favorite trees and shrubs, with attention to the specific species or variety she recommends. Visually the book is pleasing with a concise, easy-to-read format that allows quick gleaning of info. She discusses the plants best features as well as basic characteristics. Lois Hole also includes special uses, location, tips, planting recommendations and maintenance. She addresses problem solving with some brief "what to plant where" lists. I consider this very helpful reference book an excellent addition to my library.
