The book was written by Neal Samors and includes interviews with such individuals that range from Hugh Downs, Mike Wallace, Hugh Hefner, Lee Phillip Bell, Joel Daly, Shecky Greene, Ramsey Lewis, Shelley Berman and Harold Ramis to Billy Pierce, Gale Sayers, Glenn Hall, Ken Holtzman, Chef Grant Achatz, Larry Levy, Ann Roth, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Dick Portillo, and US District Judge Marvin Aspen. The Introduction to the book was written by Gary Johnson and the Foreword was written by Tom Dreesen. The Introductions to the six sections of the book were written by Paul Meincke, David Marienthal, Penny Pollack, Grant DePorter, Marc Schulman and US Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky.
