Announcing a new edition of the leading interpersonal communication text used by over one million North American readers!Looking Out Looking In provides a solid academic introduction to the field of... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought this book for a communication course at my college. I accidentally bought an old edition, but there was very little that was different. In an entire semester, I only had to borrow someone else's new edition once. Very easy to read and understand. Full of cartoons (Zits, Family Circus, Cathy) that are very helpful for explaining concepts. The activities are very simple and easy to complete, but incredibly helpful in examining one's self. This is the only textbook I've ever had that I read in my free time - not just for studying, but because it's fascinating.

Upon viewing the contents of the book, it seems to be exactly what is needed for better communication and an enhanced outlook on viewing other person's perspective. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I love the book. I am using it for a communication class I am taking and it is extremely helpful and easy to read. It uses today's terminology and is very up to date in regards to examples used and the way that its worded. It is a great book to learn a lot about communication that we don't necessarily learn from day to day interaction.
A manual for all

I will suggest this manual to every couple, especially the newly wed, even before suggesting any "how to ..my babie". I wish I had this book 40 years ago, most of my troubles would have never come. Many manuals out there, such "How to satisfy your woman/man" and such are just the mechanics of human relation, this is its soul. Matter of fact I will bring a copy to Italy next May to two newly wed couples. Giovanni Diamante
Best Textbook I've Ever Used

As a college student, I'm used to dry, terse textbooks that I fall asleep over, but Looking Out, Looking In is different. The art, poetry, illustrative stories, even the cartoons are beautiful and entertaining. The content is well organized, enjoyable reading and the extra exercises are so much fun that I've done them when they weren't assigned (well, I'm also a bit of a nerd, but that's beside the point). If you're a communications or psychology prof browsing for a new curriculum, do your students a huge favor: use this book!
