Karen Wood is the co-director of Camp Alandale, a non-profit Christian camp for abused children in Idyllwild, CA. Along with her husband Robin, she founded Camp Alandale in 1980 and has been loving abused/neglected children ever since.Through this book, she tells the stories of children who have endured the horror of abuse (sexual/physical/emotional), and then had their heads lifted by their loving Father. The pain that these children endured will bring tears to your eyes, and the change that God wrought in their hearts will turn these tears of sadness into tears of joy. In the process of reading this, a calloused heart will be melted, and a tender heart will be refined. These stories of hope will challenge your priorities, and move you towards a deeper love of God and others. After reading of God's faithfulness to these children, your understanding of God's heart will be deepened, and your own heart will be moved.
