When Ellen Jamieson breaks up with her long-standing boyfriend, she plans to go traveling. I don't think I read the same book as the reviewer below. This book was fun summertime reading - I could barely put it down until I finished it. Ellen goes to Oddlode to sell her parent's cottage, as they've moved to Spain. She finds it in a total state of disrepair. Fate throws her with Spurs Belling, the handsome village outcast who's just returned after 10 years. The two fight their attraction for each other- Ellen because she's just coming off a long relationship and Spurs because of secrets in his past. There are also all of the eccentric village residents and Ellen's friend Pheely, who also has secrets. Fun stuff!
