Great Buddha, have you heard? This is a delightful series!

Annie Griffin has created a place called Hill Creek I love to visit. Each book in this series just gets better and better, a wonderful, skillful mix of mystery, humor, and emotion. Her characters are superbly drawn. I know that if Hill Creek were real, I would go directly to Lady Nails so I could hear all the good gossip. Naomi would be there to give me spiritual advice (or at least her card with the 900 number on it), Kiki would give me advice on my love life (then I'd know what not to do!), Wanda would tell me about her dog, who's really a reincarnation of her uncle, I might see Lauren and encourage her to go after Morgan, and if I were very lucky, I might find the wise and thoughtful Hannah quietly reading a gardening magazine. If you haven't tried a Hannah and Kiki mystery, get this one. The series doesn't have to be read in order. Besides, if you miss this book, you'll miss out on one of the most exciting uses for cornmeal I've ever heard.
just a very good, light read

This book is about entertainment. Interesting people, solid plot and a good mystery. I am not from Marin County, but enjoyed it anyway. Definitely worth the read.

I couldn't put it down. Literally, got a sunburn at the beach one day because I couldn't stop reading. I honestly didn't guess the killer. At some times, I thought I knew but then there was just enough to throw me off. The characters are terrific and kept me laughing, sometimes right out loud!!! A truly enjoyable read....can't wait until the next one!
Love and the single corpse

Five stars! The zany characters in this book kept me laughing the whole time. Being a Marin County resident myself, I especially enjoyed Griffin's satire of the area. This is a great light read that will leave you in a good mood. Can't wait to see what Kiki and Hannah are up to next!Sausalito, CA

The book has two great funny characters that kept me laughing, and the mystery was also good. it kept me hooked. Griffin is the best at combining humor with a good plot. I love all the Marin County new age stuff.
