Barbara Cartland's never written a book I didn't love. This novel was Regency in flavor, like most of hers, and was a little different in the personality of the heroine, who was spirited and intelligent. The romance developed slowly, but the end was warm and satisfying. You can't go wrong with Barbara Cartland.

For once there is a heroine that is not continuously trembling from the sheer 'magnificence' of her beloved. Headstrong and very intelligent Petrina's verbal duels with the Earl and her ability to fall into one scrape after another provide an appealing, humerous side to the novel. It's lots of fun, especially if you have the chance to listen to the audio version. I recommend it to any cartland fan.
