I am a sophomore in high school and I read this book for IGL. I thought this was a great book. It was really interesting. It helped me to understand what the emotionally disturbed are going through. There was not a dull moment in this book. It kept me interested to the end. I loved it!
Where is she now? I'd love to meet her....

Mary MacCracken displays an incredibly touching portrait of a little girl whose mental demons cannot overcome the special bond that a teacher and a student have. Also I find the development of her own teaching career a nice human touch. I only wish that this book were easier to find - I was lucky and managed to find it in a used bookstore. Very well done.

I'm a 7th grader and read this book when I was in 6th grade it helped me understand emotionally disturbed children better and what they go through.

I am a high school student, and I found this book extremely readable and inspirational. The book is about a teacher (the author) and how she helped an emotionally disturbed girl find her way out of her shell. I read all her books and loved them. I'm hoping that she'll write another one!
