I hold Richard Doerfler and Stephen King in the same esteem!

Some of the happenings in this book are so bizarre, but Doerfler's style of writing is so grounded that you can comprehend the possibility of the phenomena. It's almost as if Doerfler's real life experiences bleed through his story. I take it that the little boy in the book was Doerfler once upon a time. This little boy who is abused by his father to the point that something actually gets knocked loose in his head; something phenomenal: a portal to the dream world.
