The Moody Commentary is scholarly, concise and utterly usable. It doesn't give me preaching points and illustrations nor does it get bogged down in the minute details. It simply provides clear, well written exegetical information, background and meaning. At this point, it's my go-to book when a chapter proves to be a tough nut to crack. The Moody Commentary rarely fails to give me not only good insight, but pretty unique insight as well. I find myself appreciating its "take" on the Scriptures more than any other commentary I've picked up. Try it...
