Everyday, books on design and decorating are published and most are fluff. Very few are worth owning. This one is an exception. The photography is fantastic and the text is extremely informative; there are only a handful of design books that compell you to do more than just look at the pretty pictures. Lyn Peterson understands design - and I learned a great deal. We are about to renovate a character home and this book has given me so many ideas that I feel I should buy it.

Lyn Peterson, you are brilliant! Your new book, Real Life Renovating is incredibly informative while being so readable, I feel like I know the renovation survivors you described. And like some of those survivors, I found renovating has been a test on the marriage... But thanks to your creative ideas - and the trade tips (!)- you not only saved our drab old house, you saved a marriage!! Your book taught me to think outside the box while your wise advice kept me from making many mistakes. I hope you're writing more books - you have the gift! Ace Watson
