It is a very informative account of American History and it is less biased than most History texts. That said, it is a large book, a fact that will discourage many from cracking it open and reading, or simply carrying it around, because it is very heavy. It isn't very practical unless you are a history major and have enough time to read all the extra articles about culture and politics.
