I was impressed by the motion picture remake of the old "Lost in Space" TV series: the sets, costumes, effects, and other elements were obviously conceived and designed with great care and professionalism. "The Making of Lost in Space," by Pat Cadigan, is a documentary look at the making of the motion picture.Cadigan discusses the process of transforming the elements of the familiar 60s TV series into a film. The book contains many fascinating concept drawings of the visual elements that eventually were used. Many "behind-the-scenes" artists and technicians get some well-deserved recognition.I don't know what the future holds for this sci-fi franchise. But this book is a treat for "Lost in Space" fans anyway.
