Good basic info for homeschoolers or anyone who wants to keep up...

Good basic subjects to keep up on grade level. Don't expect to have this book help your child excel, it's really more for making sure you don't miss anything obvious so it's good for homeschoolers.
If you buy only one book- this is the one.

I bought this book, Making the Grade: Everything Your 2nd Grader Needs to Know just recently and am so happy with the book. I am going to switch to just this book as the main lesson plan for teaching my 1rst & 2nd graders since it is so well organized while covering everything that they need to know in a easy to understand format that is also fun! For home-schooler or home-base charter school parents, this book is great to use because of the bulleted skills learned checklist at the end of each section. This tells you what you need to report as having covered. Then there are the assessments at the end of the book that you can submit on the various subjects, along with the answers. I have used the Hirsch series of books (What Your First Grader Needs to Know), and own serveral, but am listing them elsewhere online since they aren't nearly as good as these.
