Manny, My Love: a rare love story, inspired by true events

Millions of women across the world suffer in abusive marriages. Typically, financial insecurity, concern for their children's future, the lack of familial support and the fear of social ostracisation keep them from walking out of their marriages.

Manny, a homemaker in an affluent Indian family, tasted love in her late teens but she gave up on relationships when her boyfriend cheated on her. She got married on the rebound, and ended up with a husband and in-laws whose thinking was alien to hers. Her early efforts to end her marriage failed. So, Manny believed she had no choice but to continue the charade of marriage, and let life pass her by for the sake of her daughter.

Eight years into her marriage love happened to Manny but not with her husband. Gulshan entered her life like a breath of fresh air. Basking in his love, she shed the depression that had consumed her since she married. With Gulshan, she felt complete. Time flew by.
