Every year during the spring, Maria noticed that monarch butterflies would return to Vancouver in B.C., where she lived within sight of the Rocky Mountains. "Where are the most beautiful mountains in the world?" she once asked them. But butterflies communicate without words, so although they answered her, she could not understand them. But the question of the most beautiful mountains remained on her mind. Maria told her friends that the Rocky Mountains were the most beautiful mountains in the world. Maria's friends, who were born in different countries, believe that the mountains from their birthplaces were the most beautiful. To resolve the question of the most beautiful mountain the kids travel to the coldest place in Canada in search of a man made out of the pristine water from Canada's rivers and lakes.
