A "novel" written in the form of a series of letters from summer spa residents at Marienbad (generally wives and daughters) and their family members (generally husbands and fathers) who remain behind in Warsaw. Must be read to be appreciated. An extraordinarily funny book, showing that the more things change, the more they remain the same. Sex, deception and family intrigue are the order of the day. The current publisher of Sholem Aleichem should re-read, and more importantly, re-publish this book at this time
