If you look at the title of the book, you will see that it is for Windows Mobile 2003 devices. The Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and Windows Mobile 5.0 operating systems have been released since the book was written and thus it may seem outdated if you are trying to apply everything from the book to a newer device. Many changes were made by Microsoft to core applications in Windows Mobile 5, but the book is not intended for owners of these devices.
