I am new to this computer graphics stuff and the book showed me how to do very cool things with this program!Shane's writing is very fun and personal, and not a stuffy "professional" talking down to you. He is a fun guy and it shows in his book.If you have PhotoDraw 2000 you need this book!
Essential Tool for the graphics geek "waanabe"
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
This book starts with the basics of the tool and gracefully moves on to the more advanced topics. I found it very easy to read and understand. The projects at the end of each chapter were easy to follow and produced some fabulous results. There were; however, some areas that couldn't be followed because this was written for version 1 instead of the version 2 now available. It was easy enough to work around or figure out what area of the tool you really needed to be in. I would buy this book if you want to do fun graphics projects with photos or clip art!

Great book

I was initially frustrated with PhotoDraw, until I got a hold of Mr. Hunt's book. He not only walks through each of the program's features, but then puts them to use in practical examples. In addition, he doesn't talk down to you, but writes in light and amusing tone. There are great tips and tricks throughout, to circumvent PhotoDraw limitations as well as offer up interesting design hints. The tutorials are great and easy to follow along, and Mr. Hunt does some amazing things with this program! You can also download all of the tutorial files from the book's web site (but I wish it came with a CD). Overall a great book for the money.
