I am new in the real estate/ property market. The book arrived two days before I was to do my first property pre-evaluation to recommend to my business partner to acquire a property. It is short enough and written in a simple and plain manner that makes it easy to go through. I developed a set of questions for the seller based on the issues raised in the book and thus had a due diligence check list to use. Because I was reading it very quickly since I had less than a day to prepare, my comprehension of some of the issues was difficult but what really helped were the review questions at the end of each chapter to self-assess your understanding. I found these very helpful in enhancing my comprehension of the various concepts. As someone with a finance background, the book doesn't deal with complex issues but is aimed at someone who has a working understanding of finance. For those who have been at the game for long time, more advanced reading material would be required for advanced discussion of the concepts. Though the book was written a while ago most of the issues are still relevant in today's market. It is appropriate for both the commercial and the household real estate appraiser.
