Most other certification books seek Microsoft approval, meaning they must include at least 50 percent tutorial material, and cover every objective for every exam, no matter how frivolous or relevant... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is exactly what it claims to be. A quick guide to what you need to know for the 175 exam. It won't tell you how to program, it assumes you know that already (hence for EXPERIENCED candidates) and it certainly won't give you questions from the exam (there are in fact, no questions in this book from the exam) but it does give you a basis of what you NEED to know and what you need to understand to pass this exam.I give it a heartly thumbs up as it did exactly what it claimed to do, it helped an experienced candidate pass.
Great Roadmap/Guide for 70-175 Preparation!

As with the 70-176 book, I used this one to pass 70-175. It was quite helpful, although not as in-depth in some areas as 70-176 was. The coverage of MTS was somewhat limited. However, it provides good comparisons between DHTML and IIS WebClass applications, which you'll need to know! Also, it has a good explanation of Dynamic Load Balancing, n-tier application development, and other theoretical concepts. These are *very* important topics on the exam. It provides an excellent roadmap for ADO, which you'll get a lot of in 70-175 (unlike 70-176). I would recommend this book as a guide, while using the product and MSDN as a secondary source. Take the sample at the end of the book (which is a bit easier than the actual exam, but definitely representative of what you'll see), and if you score 85% or higher, you're probably in good shape for the test. Good luck!
Great test prep

If you are a programmer and heading towards your MCSD exams, the Fast Track series is wonderful. I bought both the 70-176 and the 70-175 books and I am impressed.Once again (see review of 70-176), this is not a learning tool for Visual Basic. And, once again, I reserve the fifth star until I take the test. Some of the content is the same from one book to the next, but learning the IDE is as important, test wise, to each.
