MCSE Training Guide: Exchange Server 5.0 provides users with all of the latest information they need to pass this popular exam and covers all the intracacies of the latest version of Exchange Server.... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I'm quite familiar with the NT operating system, but Exchange server was new to me when I first started studying for this exam. I didn't believe that the book was prepared in a manner that conducive to learning, and now that I know Exchange better, looking back at the book, I still do not believe it to be that great. There are 5 chapters in the book. Each covering the 5 areas tested on the Exchange server exam. The first chapter for Planning was by far the least productive of all 5. It didn't follow the logic needed in planning Exchange. It did give an idea as to some prerequisites for the installation and organization setup. The other chapters were just fine for getting an idea of the innerworkings of exchange, but don't depend on this book if you want to pass the test the first time. I've used some Sybex books in the past for studying and they have seemed to follow the logic from begin to end much better than this book. I purchased this book because the NT Server book from Drew Heywood (with New Rider publishing)was so good, I thought I'd stick with New Rider. WRONG! Keep looking elsewhere for a better Exchange server book. JSK
