"I love visiting City Hall in San Francisco. A few months ago, my kindergarten class went on a field trip there, and we saw a statue of a lady outside the mayor's office. When my teacher asked what if anyone knew what people who work at City Hall do, I jumped up and down and raised my hand high. My name is Eileen Feinstein Mariano and I'm six years old. My grandmother, Dianne Feinstein used to be the mayor of San Francisco. Now she is a United States Senator." So begins the story of Grandmother #2 in this sparkling new series. We see Dianne Feinstein not only as a powerful U.S. Senator, but as the affectionate grandmother, known as Gagi, to Eileen.
This book is very appealing to all ages. My granddaughter who is 4 years old received it for an Easter gift. She loved the way it was presented. Short and to the point statements about the Senator's job. The pictures are interesting and make you want to read about this person and what she does. This book encourages older children to look at our government and want to know more.On the whole it makes a very important political position understandable and fun to read about through Eileen's eye. I would recommend this book to ages 3 to 15.
