My name is Melody. I was born on The Day of The Song. When the world I have never seen, changed. I came into this world just as the song stopped. If the timing had been just a little bit off I wouldn't be writing this right now. My mother would have ripped me to shreds. The song turns good people into bloodthirsty killers. At least for ten minutes every week. Any other time people in my town are pretty boring. The only other time anyone gets killed is if they are caught singing. Preacher, our leader, takes it upon himself to head the executions. He is a much hated and loved man. I hate him. He killed my mother.Preacher has pushed me into a new life. I am going to find where the song is broadcasted and stop it. I am going to create a new song, a new frequency. A melody that will unite us.
