This is a personal record of events during an apprenticeship at RAF Cosford from 23rd October 1969 to my graduation on 14th October 1971. These two years in 216 Entry, C Flight had such a significant impact in building the boy into a young man that I still recall many details 50 years later. Since those years I maintained the second best thing I ever did from a work perspective was to join the RAF and the best thing was to get out. Despite many concerns about military life, it gave me a foundation to both my working and personal life which no amount of formal course could ever give an individual. We're not talking about technical training but the real-life experience of learning about people and working as a team. I can honestly say I've never looked back and would heartily recommend similar to any teenager today, though I would not have said that at the time.
