President Clinton's brilliant advisor offers a provocative look at the radical new shape of American politics, revealing how today's anger has grown out of the middle class's betrayal by both political parties in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Charts; graphs; index.

This book is a facinating read for those interested in modern American political history. The book traces the political sentiments of one average middle class blue collar community from the eighties through the Clinton years, and tells much about what we might expect from America's middle class this election year. It is scholarly, but not dry. Great book.
