Talented young fashion designer and illustrator David Longshaw has launched his debut book "Mildred - a fashionable children's tale for grown ups" on Amazon. David is known for his quirky illustrations featuring his characters Maude, Doris and Beryl the badger amongst others; his characters are immortalized in the prints for his eponymous womenswear collection, as well as appearing in animations for Vogue Italia and Love Magazine. This debut book was created in response to demand from his customers who craved more of drawings and characters. In the book Maude the fashion fabric mouse introduces the reader to Mildred - the peculiar penguin who sees people as dresses. The story relates to how Mildred became the influential Maudezinest through a host of fabulous images and conversations; through stories within stories we follow Mildred discovering her sense of style. Maude was originally created by David whilst at Central St Martins and has been described by British Vogue as "'Longshaw's long standing cult creation."
