I have thoroughly enjoyed Micheal Phillips cousin series, this one being the last one. These books would be good also for young readers. They really help point out what is important in life.

I was thrilled with the whole series. I read all eight books (Shendoah Sisters and Carolina Cousins) in five weeks. I was glad that I had not started the series previously, that way I didn't have to wait on the next book. I enjoyed the look into the Civil War times. It made me happy to be in the current time in history. I learned a lot about the life during that time. I recommend this reading to everyone that enjoys a picture of how Christians live through trials and tribulations.

You definitely want to read this whole series to get the full benefit of the entire story. Definitely a great series and a very literal and true picture of what the south experienced during the Civil War and the reconstruction. Very quick reading, and of such a nature that even children 10-12 and up would enjoy if they love reading. I have found Christian Historical Fiction to be fantastic to wet the appetites of school-age children for aditional research and /or interest in historical time eras.
