Fresh from his job of building a bridge over a treacherous river in Colombia, Gazda goes to Panama to see the future plans for building the Pan American Highway over an area in Panama called the Darien Gap. His opposition includes a sophisticated drug manufacturer in the jungles deep in Panama. It is there that the action in this story really takes off. Gazda is helped by a Lieutenant in the Army of Panama who turns out to be a gorgeous girl.
