Moctezuma Y Atahualpa: Vida, Pasión Y Muerte de DOS Gobernantes / Moctezuma and Atahualpa: Life, Passion, and Death of Two Rulers [Spanish]

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

It was during the fourteenth century that the ominous omens of the end of two great civilizations materialized; the decline of two mythical rulers: Moctezuma Xocoyotzin and Atahualpa and, with them, that of the only imperial states of the pre-Columbian, Mexica and Inca New World: the Triple Alliance and Tawantinsuyo.

Several parallels also exist between the statesmen: both faced the arrival of the Spaniards and witnessed the fall of their peoples, one was taken prisoner by Cort s and the other by Pizarro, but above all they witnessed the advent of a new order that emerged on the ruins of their empires.

A cruel synchronicity that has intrigued historians, archaeologists and ethnologists alike. Eduardo Matos Moctezuma (Princess of Asturias Laureate) and Luis Millones Santa Gadea (one of Peru's most internationally renowned historians and anthropologists) contrast the profiles of these legendary figures in a fascinating book that unveils the mysteries of their origin and destiny.
