A Thorough Collection Of Essays On 20th Century American Art
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
As a college art student, I found this book to be an excellent companion to my 20th Century American Art History class. Though it lacks photos of artwork or an in-depth background surrounding the articles, it is intended for a reader with at least a basic knowledge of art history, and serves more as a thorough compilation of relevant essays by artists and art critics of the moment. This provides the reader with a more detailed perspective of the American art movements as they occurred. I found this book to be very effective, and the articles delve into aspects of Modern Art history that are rarely discussed in detail in other books that tend to focus on the artwork itself, and less upon the artist and artwork in the historical context of the time.
