I bought this book for my 5 year old who was having trouble sleeping at night and I had tried many different things to get him to sleep in the dark without having nightmares. After reading this book to him a few times he began to have fewer nightmares. My son really became attached to Jazz, because he loves dogs, and we hope to see more books like this one in the future. Thanks Rainey.
Wonderful Bedtime Story

Poor Angie, every night at bedtime, when the lights are turned off, the monsters come out...scary two headed dragons, orange and red caterpillars, silvery snakes, bats and ghosts. But with Jazz, the Dreamdog's help, she faces her fears and sends those monsters packing. Rainey, et al, has written a very comforting and empowering story that lets youngsters know, in a very gentle way, that those monsters and fears are not real, but in their heads and that they have the power to conquer them. Her soothing rhyming text is combined with beautfully detailed, busy illustrations that will charm and delight small children as they learn to send the "monsters" lurking in their room away for the night, so that they can curl up, just like Angie and go to sleep. Monsters in Your Bed...Monsters in Your Head is the perfect bedtime story and a wonderful addition to all home libraries.

I gave this book to my niece, age 5. She loved it, and carried it around with her all day. Hopfully, it will help her face her bedtime fears!
Great book for nighttime fears!

I can't say enough good things about this book! I really love the approach -- it focuses on empowering kids to solve their own problems, and while helping the kids with their nighttime fears, it also gives parents the opportunity to talk to them about social issues -- in this case, homelessness. (The little girl in the story realizes that the reason the monsters are in her bedroom at night is because they don't have anywhere else to go, so she finds them new homes and solves her problem, too!) The illustrations are wonderful -- very colorful and cute -- and there's a heart to find on each page. My girls are a bit young still for nighttime fears, but they love the book, and friends have told me it has really helped their kids with their fears. Keep 'em coming, Rainey!
Life lessons for all

Dreamdog is definately leading the way in any children's books that I have seen in my 8 years of buying books for children. In only a month, my eight year old has memorized the entire book after reading it to her younger siblings (four and two 1/2) so many times. The eight year old might skip a sentence, but the four year old quickly catches it. I'm spreading the word to all my friends and educators, about this fabulous life lesson book for all.
