From its festivals, to its language to its lovable quirks, its wide-open spaces, creativity and French flair, there's a lot to like about Qu?bec. And the same goes when you discover Montr?al: cosmopolitan and bilingual with its legendary bagels and smoked meat, famous churches, crackling nightlife, beloved mountain view; its stellar shopping and its network of paths that make up the vast underground city. Jen Edwards helps you have a truly personal experience in and around Montr?al and Qu?bec City. Suggested travel strategies and lists of must-see sights provide you with real insights so you can decide where you should go, stay, and eat--without hassles or regrets. Jen details where to hike, bike, shop, ski, fish, and more. Complete with maps, photographs, illustrations, and special emphasis on leading destinations. You can cycle along the wide-ranging Route Verte network in the green, hilly Eastern Townships; have a seat in Qu?bec City's old market square, Place Royale, and see the earliest days of New France come to life; or go from one stellar gourmet restaurant to another in the poetic, oft-painted Charlevoix. Moon Montr?al and Qu?bec City has the tools you need to create your own unique trip.
Although it's a little dated now (some of the restaurants in Montreal are now closed), I really enjoyed this guidebook. It provided good insights, history and a selective list of sights and activities. The sidebars and the suggestions for day trips were especially good.

I had previously used the Moon Guide for Rome and thought I'd try their guides for our long weekend to Montreal and Quebec city. This Moon Montreal and Quebec City guide was fabulous and helped me discover places we would never have seen on our short little visit. I also purchased the Moon Metro Guide as it is a convenient way to carry a map when you're out and about without having a giant map that shouts 'tourist'!
