For over a decade Edward Mooney, Jr., wrote columns for his local newspaper, starting in 2002. At first, they were written once or twice a month, but within a year he was writing four times a month. They often appeared in the Monday edition of the local paper. These commentaries came to be known as "Mooney's Class," for the fact that he was a high school teacher during that time, and he was writing about school, relationships and families. This column won the 2006 John Swett Certificate for Media Excellence, awarded by the California Teachers Association.Because he had a loyal following, and because of requests from many people, Edward decided to assemble four small books, featuring many of the columns that focused on life, learning and love. This is the first one. Each book will cover two years. The first volume covers the years 2003 and 2004. The second will cover 2005 and 2006, with the third covering 2007 and 2008. The fourth volume will cover the years 2009 and 2010.Please note that these are selected columns, and not all of them have been reproduced here. The decision was made to focus completely on columns that featured messages on love, life and learning.
