This is a cute, funny book about animals riding a bus. Cows are indeed farm animals and can be rude, but this is a silly story and does not reinforce rude behavior.

What a cute story with a real math message! It's nice to see a high quality picture book that contains math. As an educator and a parent, I found this book wonderful in many different ways. As a teacher, it's the perfect book to reinforce counting by twos. (It's the only one I know of!) It's always helpful when you can integrate subject areas, especially reading and math. As a read aloud, the children love to help you "read" as they count by two's. The structure of the book has great story elements that naturally lend itself to reading strategies, such as predictions, beginning-middle-ending, and character traits. As a parent, my children enjoyed the animal characters and colorful illustrations. They were fully engaged, wanting to know more. They too, enjoyed counting by twos as we read the book together many times. The suggested activities on the last page enabled me to reinforce counting by twos with additional fun, "hands-on" activities. Moove Over is a great book where children enjoy a humorous story and don't even realize they're learning math at the same time!
