This volume, More About Glacier View, is the eighth in the series On the Way to Glacier View. The series is about how the Seventh-day Adventist denomination dismissed Dr. Desmond Ford, after meetings at Glacier View Ranch in Colorado, held for a week from August 11-16, 1980, to discipline Ford. About 115 administrators, scholars and pastors attended from across the globe. An Australian by birth, Dr. Ford had previously taken a Forum meeting in October 1979, at Pacific Union College in Angwin, California, where he taught. He had been invited to speak about the scriptural problems associated with the doctrine of the investigative judgment. Ford was summarily taken out of class and summoned to the General Conference of SDAs where in six months he prepared a 991-document on the subject. Glacier View was the conference where his peers met to discuss and evaluate his document in 1980. As a result, a month later in mid-September, Ford lost his teaching position, and his ministerial credentials were removed. Ford died in 2019, and his wife scanned about fifty boxes of documents and letters, many connected with this event. These books have been compiled and edited by Ford's wife Gillian, with help from friends. She was with him at Glacier View and at many key events in his life. Trained as a typesetter and graphic designer and having done a graduate certificate and Master of History at the University of New England, Gillian read and edited much of his work and produced many of his books. She is therefore well qualified to create this series recording their side of what happened.
