Book Overview

A special Deluxe Edition of Adam Silvera's groundbreaking debut featuring an introduction by Angie Thomas, New York Times bestselling author of The Hate U Give; a new final chapter, "More Happy Ending"; and an afterword about where it all began.

In his twisty, heartbreaking, profoundly moving New York Times bestselling debut, Adam Silvera brings to life a charged, dangerous near-future summer in the Bronx.

In the months following his father's suicide, sixteen-year-old Aaron Soto can't seem to find happiness again, despite the support of his girlfriend, Genevieve, and his overworked mom. Grief and the smile-shaped scar on his wrist won't let him forget the pain. But when Aaron meets Thomas, a new kid in the neighborhood, something starts to shift inside him. Aaron can't deny his unexpected feelings for Thomas despite the tensions their friendship has created with Genevieve and his tight-knit crew. Since Aaron can't stay away from Thomas or turn off his newfound happiness, he considers taking drastic actions. The Leteo Institute's revolutionary memory-altering procedure will straighten him out, even if it means forgetting who he truly is.

Why does happiness have to be so hard?

Eye-opening, sad and hopeful 11/10đź‘Ť

I've recently finished reading my third Adam Silvera book, and it was quite different from "They Both Die at the End" and "History Is All You Left Me," but that's what made it so enjoyable. It had a deeper impact on me than I had anticipated, and even days after finishing it, the story still lingers in my thoughts. It's a beautiful and heartbreaking narrative, and the ending took me by surprise but left me feeling hopeful. Definitely will reread and strongly recommend.

WOW! In the Top Books I’ve read this year!

This book is soooo good! I recommend to anyone who wants to read a young adult queer novel about love, some tragedy, memory & self discovery. Its very down to earth and character based with plot twists that shocked me. I laughed, cheered, cried, yelled & smiled. Great novel.

An amazing book!

I didn’t purchase the book, instead I borrowed a copy from a friend. I do intend to purchase my own copy to reread this book. This book is interesting, and very emotional. The ending was unexpected, and by then I was sobbing. I would recommend this book to absolutely anyone.
