This cookbook has been in my family for 50 years. My mom's copy is about shot from use. I have my own copy in very good condition I bought from a vintage book seller 10 years ago. The recipes although 50 years old now, still hold up well (although our modern disdain for saturated fat takes a lick). The recipes make for a great special occasion menu. My family has used 3 of the recipes on page 180 for decades as our Christmas eve dinner. They are "shrimp Louisville", noodles Romanov and oven fried chicken. All three are very tasty and the first half of the work can be done in advance and then finished in the oven as you entertain. We also enjoy numerous other recipes such as the "fire and Ice" salad. I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who loves to cook. A creative cook can certainly adapt the recipes to their own modern tastes. Get it now before it is gone forever.
