This is a scenic splendor for Mount Shasta where heaven and earth meet with people who love it. Jane English and other photographers capture the season, time of year, time of day in the volcano, snow, plants in this beautiful made book despite a few typos. The pages are filled with forty four different views from all walks of life and they shared their love for Mount Shasta. This holy mountain does contain the "chi" which will energize those who make the pilgrimage. It was written by Rowena Pattee Kryder :I find that energy (chi or subtle energy) very conducive to health, and health is conducive to raised consciousness, and raised consciousness is conducive to solving problems, P 46. In Mount Shasta, one can experience the "Tao", in heaven and earth, sun and moon, hot and cold, plain and mountain, simple and complex, city and country. Native Americans recognize the holiness and pay their respect in keeping the natural state for thousands of years. Different people such as climbers, new-age seekers, skiers, environmentalists, loggers, ranchers come for their need and Shasta takes them all. Attractive as it is, the mountain is not heavily promoted. I stopped by the area for bunch on our way to Lava Beds Monument in Thanksgiving week 2011. I breathed the clean cold mountain air and drank the water and obtained the inspiration. I had a good time in enjoying the scenery and got connected spiritually with Mountain Shasta where I left my heart. This book is a good home companion to help unifying body and soul in meditation for the connection with Mountain Shasta. Thank you very much Jane English and Jenny Coyle!
