Typographic spectacle meets existential picture book in Mouse and Kat and the Evil One, a visual delight for discerning adults and an action-packed story for children. Artist Stuart Sharpe's work draws on influences as diverse as his experience as an animator, El Lissitsky, and Saturday morning cartoons. This epic adventure in miniature explores the universal theme of good versus evil in classic scenes.

i loved mouse and kat, it's such a crazy fusion of illustration and written text to tell a totally outlandish story. the story line is bizarre...but you don't even have to be literate to be totally into the book! awesome.
Almost seizure inducing...

Between the insane use of typography, the repeating patterns somewhat reminscent of a magic eye, I wasn't even sure exactly where to start when I opened this book. Conviently enough it actually tells you "START HERE." The storyline starts out ever tame, a mouse steals some cheese, then theres a spaceship, from which emerges the evil one. To be honest, the text of the story is almost as intresting to look at as the illustrations. Your eye jumps all over the place, because when you're reading the story, you want to look at the picture, but when you're looking at the picture, you want to know what exactly the disruptive laser stream is doing to the evil one on the other page. Totally sweet book.
