I couldn't put this book down. These two guys latch on to that movin' on up theme and never let go - from 1883 right on up to the present. I finished the book in a day and ended up wanting them to cover so many more stories and legends. They said in the introduction that they wouldn't and couldn't cover everything. That was my only disappointment - that they didn't, but then the book would have been several thousand pages long! The inside story of the Phillie Phanatic losing his head and the two aurhors' serious reflections about Veteran's Stadium were worth the price just all by themselves. I hope they come out with Movin' On Up volume 2!
