this book contains a good amount of explanatory text on various different martial arts styles and their more esoteric elements. breathing, movement, and the focused meditative quality of the martial arts practicioner are highlighted. to complement this enlightening information, are several chapters of equally enlightening excercise and meditation routines. drawn from various chinese, japanese, and indian yoga techniques, i think the authors compiled an amazingly useful set of 10-15 basic/universal breathing and movement techniques. brief simple routines you can do to focus and attune your mind and body. i enjoyed this book very much, and would recommend it to anyone having an interest in the martial arts, mainly because of its succinct style of presentation and its practical and easily applicable exercise routines.
