Mpd-Psycho: Volume 2

So far, I possess the first 3 volumes of "MPD Psycho," so I already know that this graphic horror crime thriller gets more addictive with each turn of the page. The second book in particular is a bit more action-packed and unleashes some disturbing flashbacks relating to Kazuhiko Amamiya's tangled past. A word of caution: the violence portrayed in Shou Tajima's slick illustrations gets bloodier as well. The second case assigned to Amamiya, Machi Isono and Sasayama involves the gruesome suicides of several high school girls. One student dies by bathing in an acid bath of disinfectants. Another jumps out a window and impales herself on a telephone pole. Even a third victim bleeds herself dry with a tropical fish pump. Apparantly, a quasi-religious cult led by the late Akira Moriizumi (a former faculty member who just happens to have had a bar code on his left eye), used group hypnosis to sway impressionable students into taking their own lives. The trigger mechanism often used is a haunting hit song by Lucy Monostone. The group's new leader is an important and irresistable villain. He goes by the name Zenitsu, and he's a dangerous leather-clad assasin and drug addict who uses special headphones to pump mind-altering fluids into his brain (he doesn't feel pain even when being struck by a car and having his ribs broken). His weapon of choice: a taser that can emit up to 500,000 volts of electricity. The book also reveals that Zenitsu is associated with the Gakuso Society, a mysterious organization that holds a key to unlock Amamiya's true identity. While still struggling to control his multiple personality disorder and earn the trust of Machi and the police department, Kazuhiko learns that 20 years ago, Shinji Nishizono (the psychopath killer lurking within his head) murdered three children and one female nurse in a psychiatric clinic before setting the place on fire. The victims were Yosuke Kobayashi, Kazuhiko Amamiya, Kotone Sakurai and Minako (Kazuhiko's mother). The only other person who survived that terrible night was Kiyoshi Murata, a mentally challenged patient who now works as a night watchman. Despite having a somewhat slow mind, Murata instantly recognizes Amamiya as Nishizono, his childhood friend. Later, when a grinning Zenitsu kidnaps Machi's sister and holds her at ransom in an old abandoned warehouse, he attempts to use both Kazuhiko and Murata as pawns in his own sadistic game of memory scramble.

i love manga and i like to read just about anything new that looks interesting. let me just say i cant wait for the 3rd vol. as i couldn't wait for this one. the art work doent slow down in this vol. the story get increasingly suspenful. if u enjoyed the 1st one you'll love this one. just make sure u reread the 1st one first cause theres a whole lotta names u need to remember.
