This is a good beginners book for the classroom. Though the accompanying CD is rather basic, it's helpfull. The book is a bit weak on MM project managing but was probably not targeted at managers. Two chapters in the back are dedicated to creating MM in Action 3, (similar to PowerPoint). Few people use Action but it appears that perhaps that was the basis for the authors writing this book. (Experience in Action Authoring). The accompanying floppy is a serries of PowerPoint presentations that go with each chapter, meant to be used in the classroom. It's helpful but like the CD, it's basic. There is an "Instructor's Manual for Shuman's Multimedia in Action" by Karen W. LeFever. Be carefull with the tests offered. Many questions are extremely ambiguous. Use it but write your own tests.
