From the inspiration, planning and coordinating by the museum board members Michael Matsuda, Art Camacho, Rafael Kosche, Fariborz Azhakh and J.D. Bowles, the coveted Museum Honor Awards ceremony was officially launched.The MuseumHonor Awards is our way to honor and pay tribute to those key individuals, both practitioners and promoters, who have made a dramatic impact within their own martial arts community and have helped perpetuate the martial arts in a positive way.As we began the process in 2012, the museum board selected martial artists and individuals who met the criteria of being eligible for receiving a Museum Honor Award.Those selected in this first year are amongst a group of elite martial artists that have been hand-picked by the museum. None of them were selected arbitrarily, but each of their records were examined with great care.This book contains a complete listing (and a great number of photographs) of each honoree for 2013.
