In July 2013 I invited Burlington Writers' Club members to take a heritage adventure with me and write their personal stories. A few others joined me later through my free "Writing as Art and Publishing" workshops hosted at several coffee cafes and the Graham Library. The stories would be about their historical, educational, artistic and cultural link to Alamance County. The goal was to produce a collection of individual short books titled The Heart of Alamance County. As I assisted them in writing, editing and publishing their books, their stories became a part of my book, My Alamance, A Photographer's Notebook. It features 35 Alamance County scenic photographs along with writing selections by 25 county authors, songwriters, playwrights and poets.
